Why pressure washing matters
A clean external surface isn't just about appearance. A neglected car park or driveway accumulates algae, moss, lichen, hydrocarbon staining, chewing gum and rubber tyre marks — all of which become slip hazards in wet weather, harbour bacteria, and dramatically reduce the working life of paving and tarmac. Hot vs cold water pressure washing
For oil, grease and tyre marks (car parks, forecourts, loading bays) we deploy hot-water units running at up to 80°C — the heat dissolves hydrocarbons that cold water cannot shift. For paving, render, brick and decking we use cold-water rotary surface cleaners that deliver a uniform finish without damaging the substrate. Choosing the right unit for the surface is the difference between a clean job and a damaged one — our crews are trained on every surface from soft York stone to industrial concrete.

How often should a driveway be jet washed?+
Once every 12-18 months for residential block paving, every 6 months for shaded north-facing patios prone to algae, and quarterly to monthly for commercial forecourts and high-traffic walkways.
Will pressure washing damage my block paving?+
Not when done correctly. Our crews use rotary surface cleaners (which deliver an even pressure) rather than hand lances on large flat areas, and we re-sand block paving joints after washing to prevent weed regrowth and lock the blocks back into place.
