The Brief
Fly Tipping Clearance London — Same-Day Licensed Removal
Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of waste — and it is now one of the fastest-growing environmental crimes in the UK, with over 1.15 million reported incidents on public land in the most recent Defra figures, costing English councils more than £13 million a year just to clear. Vehicall Transport delivers same-day fly tipping clearance across London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the wider Home Counties for councils, housing associations, landlords, managing agents, commercial landowners and private homeowners.
We are an Environment Agency upper-tier licensed waste carrier (CBDU571842) — the same legal status required by every local authority — and we issue a serialised Waste Transfer Note, photographic before/after evidence and a fly-tip incident report for every clearance, suitable for use in council prosecutions and insurance claims.
What counts as fly tipping?
Fly tipping covers any waste deposited on land without a permit — from a single mattress dumped on a residential street to lorry-loads of builders' rubble tipped on private land. Common scenarios we clear weekly include:
- Black bag waste, mattresses, sofas and white goods left on pavements, alleyways and estate bin stores
- Builders' bags of plasterboard, tiles, timber and rubble dumped in lay-bys, car parks and rural lanes
- Garden waste — soil, turf, branches, sheds and fence panels — fly-tipped along country roads
- Commercial waste illegally placed in domestic kerbside collections (a criminal offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990)
- Hazardous fly-tips — tyres, asbestos sheeting, paint, oil drums, fridges with CFC gas
- Repeat fly-tip hotspots on housing estates, behind shopping parades and on disused industrial land
Council fly tipping clearance & contractor framework work
We work as an approved sub-contractor for several London borough councils, parish councils and housing associations across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Our council fly-tip service includes GPS-stamped photographic evidence, What3Words location capture, an incident reference for the Defra WasteDataFlow return, segregation of any retrievable evidence (addressed mail, invoices, packaging) for environmental enforcement officers, and disposal under the EWC waste codes the council requires.
For private landowners, farmers, managing agents and commercial estates, we provide a fully documented chain of custody so that — when the polluter is identified — the council or police can prosecute under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act, with fines of up to £50,000 in a magistrates' court or unlimited fines and 5 years' imprisonment in a Crown Court.
How fast can we reach a fly-tip?
Our crews are spread across central London, the M25 corridor, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage and Milton Keynes — meaning same-day clearance is available across most of the South East when reported before 1pm. For council and housing-association framework clients we offer 4-hour and 24-hour SLA tiers with automated photographic completion reports.
Recycling and landfill diversion
Even with mixed fly-tip waste we maintain our 98% landfill diversion guarantee. Loads are tipped at our partner MRFs (materials recovery facilities) where ferrous metals, white goods, mattresses, timber, plasterboard and inert rubble are mechanically separated and routed to recyclers. Only genuinely unrecoverable residue is sent to energy-from-waste — never to landfill.

Answers
Frequently Asked
Is fly tipping a criminal offence?+
Yes. Under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, fly tipping is a criminal offence carrying fines of up to £50,000 in a magistrates' court or unlimited fines and 5 years' imprisonment in a Crown Court. Even paying someone unlicensed to take your waste makes you liable under the Duty of Care (Section 34).
Do I need to report fly tipping to my council before you clear it?+
If the fly-tip is on public land (street, pavement, council estate, public car park) you should report it to the council first — they may clear it free of charge. Vehicall is the right call when the dump is on private land, when council response is too slow, when you need same-day removal, or when you need photographic evidence and a Waste Transfer Note for prosecution or insurance.
Can you provide evidence for a council prosecution?+
Yes. Every clearance includes GPS-stamped before/after photos, What3Words location, segregation of any addressed mail or branded packaging found in the pile (which environmental enforcement officers use to trace the offender) and a written incident report — all admissible in magistrates' and Crown Court proceedings.
Are you a licensed waste carrier?+
Yes — Environment Agency upper-tier waste carrier licence CBDU571842. This is a legal requirement under the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989. Always check the licence of anyone removing your waste — if they aren't licensed, you remain legally responsible if the waste is later fly-tipped.
How quickly can you clear a fly-tip?+
Same-day across London and the Home Counties when reported before 1pm. We hold 4-hour and 24-hour SLA tiers for council and housing-association framework contracts.
Do you work with councils and housing associations?+
Yes — we work as an approved sub-contractor for several London boroughs, parish councils and housing associations across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Framework rates, KPI reporting and WasteDataFlow-compatible documentation included.
How much does fly tipping clearance cost?+
From £99 for a single small fly-tip up to £350+ for a full lorry-load. Send a photo via WhatsApp to +44 7438 948739 and our AI Vision Scanner returns a fixed quote in seconds.
Will you also clean the area after clearance?+
Yes — for an additional charge we jet-wash the affected area, sweep glass and debris, and apply odour-neutraliser where needed. Particularly important for housing-association bin stores and food-waste fly-tips.
