Builders Waste Removal for Bracknell
If you live in Bracknell Forest, your tip is Longshot Lane. It is one of two recycling centres run by re3, a partnership of Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham councils, and it treats building waste very differently from ordinary household rubbish. Since the end of 2023, a small amount of DIY rubble, plasterboard or even asbestos has been free, but only within strict limits per visit and per month. Anything over that is charged at the gate, by card only. Vans, pick-ups and trailers must have a booked slot before they arrive. And the council's bulky collection refuses DIY and construction waste outright. So a bathroom refit or a garden wall rebuild can produce far more than the free route allows. Here is how the re3 rules work, so you can see where the line falls and when builders waste removal makes more sense.
The free allowance is set per visit. It covers up to 100 litres of rubble, soil, plasterboard, gravel or asbestos. You can bring one large bathroom item instead, as long as it is no bigger than a bath, at 2000mm by 750mm by 700mm. It applies on a maximum of 4 visits in any 4-week period. Anything over that, on a single trip or across extra trips, is chargeable.
Staff check every vehicle for chargeable waste when it arrives. Payment is taken on site by debit, credit or pre-paid card, never cash. Timber, windows, doors and roofing materials also count as DIY waste under re3's rules.
Getting in needs some planning. Every vehicle visit is booked through Click and Tip. Slots open 7 days ahead and can be booked up to an hour before. A van, pick-up or trailer must be entered as a commercial-type vehicle, along with the type of waste. Bring ID and proof of address showing Council Tax paid to Bracknell Forest, Reading or Wokingham.
Tradespeople have a separate route. re3 runs a trade waste service for micro-businesses in the three boroughs, using the Longshot Lane and Smallmead sites. It is designed for small amounts of waste similar to what a household produces.

Answers
Bracknell FAQs
Can I take a bathroom suite to Longshot Lane free of charge?+
One bulky sanitary item, up to roughly the size of a bath, falls inside the free DIY allowance on a visit. A full suite usually means several items, so the extra pieces are likely to be charged, or you can spread them across visits within the 4-in-4-weeks limit.
Will Bracknell Forest's bulky collection take rubble or an old kitchen?+
No. The council lists DIY, construction and demolition waste, fitted kitchens, bathroom suites and internal doors among the things its bulky item service won't collect.
Is asbestos accepted at the re3 tips?+
Small amounts can be, within the same 100 litre DIY allowance. Check re3's hazardous waste guidance on how it must be wrapped before you take it.
